Despite of not having E3 this year, Geoff Keihley “organizer and host of The Video Game Awards ” has announced the “Summer Game Fest” a four months long digital event to promote and celebrate the video games industry, offering; news, playable demos and in-game events.

A whole season of video games events and breaking news.

Starting this month and ending in august, the Summer Game Fest promises updates of games and platforms from the following companies:

  • 2K Games
  • Activision
  • Bandai Namco
  • Bethesda
  • Blizzard Entertainment
  • Bungie
  • CD Projekt Red
  • Digital Extremes
  • Electronic Arts
  • Microsoft
  • Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Square Enix
  • Private Division
  • Riot Games
  • Steam
  • Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Also companies like Xbox and Steam will give the opportunity to their fans to play demos of selected games for a limited time, but also, there’s a chance from other companies to join, Keighley said.

The event it’s going to start with the Microsoft’s Inside Xbox on May 7, and then being followed by the Steam’s Game Festival which runs from June 9 to 14. As part of the Game festival, the streams will take place across: Facebook, Mixer, Twitch, Youtube and others outlet and media partners. The publishers show events will be pre-and-post hosted by Geoff Keighley, who is also partnering with iam8bit in order to produce a showcase event to highlight upcoming games. 

All these events are going to lead to a big finale called: Gamescom: Opening Night Live in August 24, which will serve as the ending of the digital Summer Game Fest.
